How to fix USB HDD to Linksys WRT350N Router problem?

Pick a hard drive, any hard drive (tried 3). Connect it via the USB port to the Linksys WRT350N router. Any media files that are transferred to this hard drive will have the attributes changed to %26quot;System Files%26quot;. Then, when you scan your PC for media (media player library) or when you use the PS3 to scan for media (media sharing) it will not recognise the media files any more.

However, if you access the files via mapped network drive, and you double click the file it will open just fine. File extensions remain mp3, avi, jpeg etc... only the attributes change.

Also, in the router...when it indexes the hard drive it will not correctly name the directory. Select the MP3 folder for example, and it will display that the movie folder is indexed instead. WEIRD. Any file that is copied to the HDD connected to the router gets corrupted in this way. Of course, you can -S it in DOS but it reverts anyway. linksys is stumped too.|||well, this is interesting... i never thought an HDD drive can be directly connected to a router... better watch this thread....
